Don’t Let Holidays Derail You

Holidays can affect your training, but only if you let them! When out of our normal routine it is very easy for exercise to be neglected.

Generally during holidays we tend to eat and drink more than we normally would, however we also have more free time than normal.

When we are eating and drinking more, is there ever a more important time to exercise?

Try to keep exercising when you are holiday. Even if you train less than usual, try to do some exercise. It is important to relax and have a good time, but it is also important to not undo the progress you have made with your training.

If you can end your holiday without gaining weight that’s a good result!

If you don’t have access to fitness facilities you can run or jog anywhere, or do some bodyweight exercises like squats, push ups, lunges, sit ups etc.

Once you are back from holiday make sure you get back into your regular routine straight away. It is easy to put off resuming training, but delaying it may mean you lose the routine and great habits that you worked so hard to establish before your went on holiday.
